End of year ‘Mini Show’ celebration
As has become our end-of-year tradition, this month we held a members-only mini show to celebrate our last meeting for 2025. It was a fantastic way to bid farewell to the year, showcase some stunning orchids and announce the winners of our Judge’s Choice awards.
George and Helena’s Cattleya purpurata, pictured below, was crowned the mini show Champion Orchid.
The show’s Reserve Champion prize went to Judy for her orchid, Phrag. Noirmont, pictured below.
We also announced our annual Judge’s Choice award. All of our monthly Judge’s Choice winners were considered for the prize and the 2025 winner chosen. Luda took out the award with her beautiful Catleya schilleriana (October’s Flower of the Month) and also took out the yer’s Popular Vote award. Lourens was crowned this year’s novice winner for his plant Paph. rungsuriyanum while Cliff took out the Popular Vote for Australian Native. These magnificent orchids can be viewed here.
